Flying the skies for ever

Who knows why human beings,

since long timepast

Have been dreaming to be able to fly?

The reason might be they always had trust

In God Almighty living in the sky!

And like a deer feeling thirsty and so dry

Longs for its spring to extinguish its fire,

For men to be where He’s supposed to lie

His Creator, is the greatest desire!

Go thus man and fly, higher and higher

Put your country’s flag along the universe

Or simply let some stuff make you a liar

Or dream you’re flying while loving your own nurse!

Only when your body’s time is over

Your soul will be flying the sky forever!

Echoes from a sad soul

Remember

Remember

 you are just passing through

the Earth

and  the world does not belong to you

but it’s your body

that belongs to Earth;

Remember

that love has to be built

slowly,

while  passion

burns quickly everything;

Remember

that every man

has its own dignity

and deserves all respect.

Remember

of those who  sowed

when you reap;

Remember

to greet the sun

every time he gets up

and every time it sets down.

Remember

that you are light

which illuminates

the darkness of eternity.

Traveling in spacetime with Virgil – 9

Twenty-sixth Scene

(Kathleen Maddox makes her appearance with a jug of a disgusting yellow liquid in her right hand)

Kathleen: Please, believe me! I’m on charge of anything that happened to Charlie; he’s not guilty; I’m responsible for everything he has done; please tell them not to wait for him; tell them to sent that guitar somewhere else… God is too merciful to send him here… He will forgive him for I’m guilty even for his misdeeds…. Now let me go drink  and refill my jug in the next crapper…(exit)

Twenty-seventh  Scene

(Anchor TV men, movie directors, bishops, tricksters  and politicians are all in here).

Very slowly many shadows will enter the scene; some of them wear monitors on their heads and radio apparatuses with antennas and electrical improvers; some others hold a microphone and pretend to answers imaginary questions; the director, behind the mobile video-camera goes around pretending to be filming all the characters; some more, are properly dressed as tricksters and eventually two clergy men.

1st TV man: Good news from the Economy: The Gross Domestic Product has highly  increased this year improving per capita income of almost 4%!!!

1st microphone man: Right or wrong it’s for my Country!

1st radio man: … but don’t worry for the criminals! They  have been secured behind the national prison’s bars!

1st  Trickster: Come on! Who’s gonna share the play of the three cards!!!

2nd Trickster: The King wins, the Jack loses!!! Come on! Easy money and prompt  cash!

1st Bishop (like a litany): Do what is fitting for you but say what is suitable for them!!!

Bishop’s assistant (mocking and lifting his cloak from behind): What an excellence!!!

2nd TV man: The people are happy and the weather is all right for the next week end!!!

2nd microphone man: The power belongs to the people! That’s why we go to polls!!!

2nd radio man: Our homeland is the best democracy in the world!!!

Twenty – height  Scene

(Dante and Virgil)

Virgil: Are you enjoying with this?

Dante: Who are those people up there?

Virgil: Which ones?

Dante: I recognized a Bishop, a priest, even two swindlers…

Virgil: The other people represent the worst of our society, especially those with the microphone in the hand!

Dante: Whom the hell are them?

Virgil: They are politicians…

Dante (blushing with much embarrass): Politicians you said, master?

Virgil (laughing): I’m sorry my son! I forgot you used to be a politician in your Florence!!!

Dante (with respect): Do you really think all the politicians deserve to be in the hell???

Virgil (pointing the proscenium): No, my son! Not just all politicians but those politicians up there!!! At the end you have been exiled for your honesty but those guys are the deporters, ‘you know what I mean?

Dante (bitterly): I think I do, master…What about those  funny people?

Virgil: Another kind of hypocrite and liars from the present times! Men of television and radio’s speakers: all servants of power!!!

Dante: I see… Shall we go?

Virgil: OK. You had enough, didn’t you?

Dante: As a matter of fact I’m a bit disgusted…

Virgil: That’s the world today, my son!!!

Dante: I need some fresh air…

Virgil (showing the exit door): Look! If we take that door over there, we can easily reach the Ante Hell. That’ll be our last trip before leaving for the peaks of Purgatory!!!

Dante: Let’s go! Watch out son: we need to pass among them! Don’t touch them and don’t answer them if they talk to you!!! Right?

Dante (with a thrill of fear): Yes master!

Virgil: follow me then! (they go to the centre of the proscenium).

Twenty-ninth Scene

(The foresaid, Ealk, Dante and Virgil)

While Dante and Virgil try to get the exit door, a diabolic figure comes out from the entrance door: He’s Ealk Perdurabo, the Great Beast. He has a long whip on his left  hand and wears a black fancy dress with number 93 on the front and 666 on the back)

Ealk (blocking their way): Where do you think you’re going to? Nobody can leave this hopeless place once he gets in!!!

Virgil (loudly, with a rough approach): What’s a matter with you? Somebody who is more than I and than yourself has traced our journey and it must go on safely!!!!

Ealk.: What about that living body behind your soul?

Virgil: He’s expected there where the power is real and absolute and their  will is law!!! Get off my way and don’t ask anymore!!!

Ealk. (with a grin of rage, whipping the damned he leads them forward the door he has come in): Move your ass, you bastards!!! That’s a restless place for your damned souls!!! Go down on the ever ramming air to release your vain chats!!! Go, missed stars, go black holes of the dark sky!

Virgil (taking the chance when  Ealk turn his shoulders ): Let’s go out of here quickly, my son!!!

Echoes from a sad soul

Please keep on singing

Tie me like Ulysses,

I won’t run away

to death

hearing those songs!

Bind me Lord!

But you keep on singing!

The sins are not yours

     for the shores I crave

    for the eyes I seek

for the thrills of my restless soul!

I beg you to continue on singing.

Paths of God

Where once reigned the desert

Now it blossomed a flower,

a strong flower of love

living, breathing

in perfect harmony

with the ‘invisible yet tangible

God’s presence!

And now I know what spoiled

My blind yearnings

of happiness:

the arrogance of claiming  affection

which I supposed was  due to me;

the self-conceit  we are only matter,

the pleasure for pleasure,

selfishness  as the only purpose of life.

No, that was not

The right way:

I know now that Love

passes through the paths of God!

Holy Friday

Thank you Lord Jesus

For coming in our midst

To prove that one can live

Without the worry of power

Without the lure of money

Without the lust of flesh!

Thank you Lord Jesus

You deigned

Dressing  shoes of Man

Showing us that you can

be offended

Hit without hate

With no react of  threatening

though derided and mocked

And after all  forgiving!

How can we ever forget You

You, who have accepted

To charge up our faults

dying for our salvation?
